About Lachtoday

A Kitchen Remodeler That Starts With the Aisle

Lachtoday remodels kitchens in Palm Springs, and we have narrowed our focus on purpose. Most of the kitchens we work in are galleys, and a large share of those sit in the post-and-beam houses of Racquet Club Estates and the neighborhoods around it. These rooms were drawn for a smaller refrigerator, fewer appliances and a lot less stored food than people keep today. They can work beautifully again, but only if someone plans them as a corridor rather than squeezing a suburban kitchen into one.

That is the part we care about most. Before we talk about door styles or countertop colors, we measure the aisle, look at where the plumbing comes up through the slab, find out what the structure is doing above the ceiling line, and check the electrical panel for spare capacity. Those four things decide what your kitchen can become. Finishes come afterward.

How We Work

  • We say when not to spend. If your cabinet boxes are sound, we will price refacing next to replacement and let you choose. If a wall should stay, we say so before an engineer is paid to confirm the obvious.
  • We plan around the desert. Summer demolition starts early in the morning, cabinets are stored somewhere cool so the finish and glue are not cooked in a garage, and countertop adhesives go on when temperatures allow.
  • We respect the house. Mid-century homes here have a character that owners chose deliberately. We keep sightlines toward clerestory glass and the patio, and we check with the city before touching anything that faces the street.
  • We put the schedule in writing. Cabinet and slab lead times are the long poles in any kitchen job, and we tell you the real ones up front, especially if the house is a rental with guests booked.

Where We Work

Our jobs are mostly in Racquet Club Estates, Racquet Club West, Desert Park Estates, the Movie Colony, Vista Las Palmas, Twin Palms and Deepwell, plus condos across the city.
